Especially at this time of year, families look to food banks to help them through the season. At Island Farms, we help by providing donations of fresh milk for Christmas Hampers for families on Vancouver Island and in Chilliwack.

It is volunteers who put all of these hampers together, and provide them to families in need. These people donate their valuable time to help make sure others have a better Christmas. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you because without you, none of this is possible.

Our best wishes to all of the hard-working volunteers who give so generously of their time to make Christmas a little brighter for so many.

Congratulations to each and every one of the over 12,000 people who registered for this year’s TC 10K. As a sponsor of this 24th annual event, we were proud to provide two Photobooths on race day, allowing you to take home a complimentary sheet of photos as a memento. Now, just for you, we’ve posted all of the photos taken at the two booths on our Facebook site facebook.com/islandfarmsdairy. Have a look; we’ve made it easy for you to share your photos with your family and friends on Facebook.

Thanks so much to everyone who entered our Daisy Day Facebook Contest and joined us on Daisy Day to celebrate Daisy’s birthday. The winners in our Facebook Contest each received one of 50 exclusive invitation packages to Daisy’s Birthday Party, on Monday, February 11th  in the Main Hall at the Saanich Fairgrounds in Saanichton, BC. All enjoyed the bouncy castle, obstacle course, indoor minigolf, face painting and more! Plus, winners received an assortment of Island Farms treats and Daisy’s birthday cake! Each year Island Farms kicks off the holiday season by participating in dozens of community events on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, including the Island Farms Santa’s Light Parade in Victoria, BC and the Annual Ladysmith Light-Up Parade. These events draw thousands of people together to enjoy the festivities – and generous donations for local food banks!

Don’t miss Victoria’s annual Christmas Parade with the grand finale of seeing Santa himself, on Saturday, November 17th starting at 5:45 pm. The parade starts at the Legislative Buildings and winds its way down Government Street, ending at  Capital Iron. More festivities begin at 7:00 pm in the parking lot, where everyone is invited to meet Santa himself and enjoy treats and goodies from Island Farms.

Especially at this time of year, please support your local food bank. ‘Be an Elf’ by filling a bag with non-perishable groceries and bringing it to the Parade. Volunteers will collect the bags along Government Street during the parade. Or, deliver your bag directly to the Mustard Seed Food Bank at 625 Queens Avenue.
