Ingredients
- 450 g (1 lb) lean ground beef
- 625 g (2 ½ cups) grated mozzarella cheese
- 500 g (2 cups) of Island Farms Cottage Cheese
- 125 g (½ cup) grated Parmesan cheese
- 60 mL (¼ cup) chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 750 mL (3 cups) - about 1 jar - spaghetti sauce
- 375 mL (1 - ½ cups) water
- 12 uncooked lasagna noodles
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Mix together 300 g (1-¼ cups) mozzarella, cottage cheese, 50 g (¼ cup) Parmesan, parsley and egg.
- Brown meat in a large skillet; drain, return to pan and stir in spaghetti sauce and water. Mix well.
- Using a 32.5 x 23 cm (9 x 13" inch) pan, put 250 mL (1 cup) of the meat sauce on the bottom, then 3 lasagna noodles,1/3 of the cottage cheese mixture, 250 mL (1 cup) meat sauce.
- Repeat layers twice more. Top with last 3 noodles, last of the meat sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove lid and bake additional 15 min.
- Let stand 10 - 15 minutes before serving.
