  • Whisk egg yolks lightly.
  • In a saucepan, mix table cream, milk, sugar and vanilla.
  • Bring gently up just to boil.
  • Pour into egg yolks while stirring constantly.
  • Return to saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until custard thickens enough just to coat the back of the spoon.
  • Pour into bowl and serve hot, warm or cool.
